Kristen Smith-Simon

Dr. Kristen Smith-Simon has received extensive training in evaluating and treating a variety of mental health issues in several clinical settings.  She received her Ph.D. in the Child & Adolescent track of the Clinical Psychology program at Penn State University, and completed her pre-doctoral internship in Pediatric Psychology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.  Dr. Smith-Simon received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.  Currently, her post-doctoral work is split between positions at MidStep and the Psychological Clinic at Penn State University.  Throughout the course of her training, she has participated in several research studies examining evidence-based clinical treatments, children’s emotional and social development, and family interactions.  Specific interests include treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, family interaction issues, and behavior disorders.  Dr. Smith-Simon believes strongly in working with children and adolescents, their parents, and schools to provide the best clinical care, and providing psychological services based soundly in clinical and developmental research.

Dr. Smith-Simon enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
