Carol Skinner

Dr. Skinner is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist.  She completed her doctoral training in School Psychology at University of Northern Colorado in 2001 with emphasis in child neuropsychology and family therapy.  Dr. Skinner’s primary area of expertise is exploring the relationship between brain functioning and student learning, thus she conducts many neurodevelopmental evaluations of children and adolescents with learning differences, problems of attention, and autism spectrum disorders.  Additionally, Dr. Skinner has recently received training in childhood anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and self-mutilation.

Prior to joining MidStep, Dr. Skinner was employed as the Mental Health Consultant for Central Intermediate Unit #10 in West Decatur, PA.  Among her many accomplishments there, she converted an Emotional Support classroom into a therapeutic classroom, provided individual and group counseling to children and adolescents, and co-facilitated the development of an Emotional Support Team Networking Group for Emotional Support teachers in three counties.

When not at work, Dr. Skinner enjoys spending time with her husband and is a cross-country skiing enthusiast.
