Welcome to MidStep!
The journey from childhood to adulthood is challenging—for children and parents alike—and every family needs help now and then. The Centers’ main goal is to help families when they stumble—in midstep—and help them regain their stride to live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. We provide the highest quality psychological services to children and adolescents—and to those responsible for their care.
The psychological needs of children are very different from those of adults. That’s why the clinicians at MidStep are licensed child psychologists who specialize in the developmental needs of children and adolescents, typically from birth to age 18.
Our independently practicing psychologists are highly trained to evaluate and treat a wide variety of childhood psychopathologies, including ADHD, adjustment disorders, anxiety, attachment disorders, autistic disorders (including Asperger’s Syndrome and PDD), bipolar disorders, depression, developmental delays, disruptive behavior disorders, OCD, eating disorders, and psychosomatic illnesses.
Because children are so dependent on their caregivers, our clinicians work closely with family members and collaborate regularly with other professionals, including teachers, counselors, and physicians, to coordinate care and to effect real and lasting positive change.
All psychological services are provided in a caring, professional atmosphere and are strictly confidential.
